Operations Manager – Log Despatch – Rotorua Based Company/Location: Rotorua
Applications are currently being sought for an experienced person to continue with building a strong team while maintaining relationships with our customers to ensure we deliver on our promises to stakeholders.
Reporting to senior management to improve shareholder returns by gains in operational efficiencies. The successful candidate will need to ensure that all personnel embrace safe working policies and procedures which result in the safe, compliant and efficient completion of all workplace practices.
Other duties/responsibilities also include:
Plan truck - starts daily, weekly, monthly.
Longer term quarterly and annual planning
Oversee and supervise the day to day operation of FDL dispatch staff in accordance with company policies and procedures
Assist in visiting logging crews and customers to ensure continued good relations in the operation - building, maintaining strong resilient teams.
Meeting customer deadlines safely and efficiently with good communication, planning, and execution of plans
Efficient allocation of Shareholder available fleets
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following;
Experience in supply chain, log truck dispatch planning practices, planning skills are a key element of success in this role.
An experienced manager and leader, able to coach, motivate and develop a team of dispatchers.
Commercial acumen, keeping up to date with business & market trends
Proven stakeholder relationship building skills fostering new relationships & growing existing ones.
Strong Health & Safety awareness and leadership
High level of Microsoft excel & word, verbal and written communication.
Be prepared to work flexible hours, be available on call and work occasional weekends.
